Mr. Ernest P. Joshua, Sr. is the founder and CEO of J. M. Products, Inc. (J.M.), based in Little Rock, AR. J.M. Products, Inc. is the manufacturer of ISOPLUS, ISOPLUS for KIDS, ISOPLUS Healthy Solutions Plus, UpTurn, Oil of K and Black Magic brand products The Company is one of the largest manufacturers. of ethnic hair care products in the US. and is the largest Black-owned company in the state of Arkansas.

The Company currently has two manufacturing facilities in the US. The two manufacturing facilities in the home based cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock comprise over 165,000 square feet of production space. Affiliate operations in Jamaica, W.I., and Africa are preparing I M. for the international marketing challenges of the 1990’s. And with over 100 employees, the Company’s hair care products are distributed on a national basis across the United States and internationally to several Fortune 500 distributors, discount, drug and food stores.

The success of J. M. Products is largely due to its founder, Mr. Ernest P. Joshua, Sr., an Arkansas native who thrives on maintaining a quality-based hair care operation. Having over 30 years of experience in the hair care industry, he began as a one-man business in the mid “70s with constant long hours of hard work, dedication, commitment and aggressive marketing strategies, I M. Products, Inc. has grown to become a respected leader in the hair care industry.

J.M. Products, Inc. is the largest minority owned aerosol manufacturing company in the United States. As I M. products is concerned with the environment and potential depletion of the earth’s ozone layer and leads the way in the ethnic hair care products category in compliance with Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) regulations. Through its growth, J. M. Products, Inc., has expanded from the manufacturer of one product, ISOPLUS Hair & Scalp Treatment (formerly known as Style Crest ISODINE), to five nationally recognized brands. The four original brands, ISOPLUS, ISOPLUS for Kids, UpTurn and Oil of K, represent 59 retail and professional products; including aerosol hair sprays, shampoos, conditioners, hair relaxers, styling aids and scalp oils A fifth product line, Black Magic, was purchased in 1994 from American Beauty Products of Tulsa, OK The Company is also involved in extensive contract packaging in both the ethnic and general market arenas.

Since 1986, the I Al. Products family has received numerous state and national civic and business honors, including: Arkansas Small Business Person of the Year (awarded by the US Small Business Administration in 1986); Six-State Regional Small Businessman of the Year in 1987; runner-up for the National Small Businessman of the Year in 1987 and numerous other civic awards. In 1987, Mr. Joshua was the first businessman from the state of Arkansas to be honored at the White House for his achievements as a small businessman by then President Ronald Reagan and in 1994, was invited by President Bill Clinton to participate in the first ever US. Trade Mission to South Africa.

The Company contributes annually to various college scholarship funds, drug free prevention programs, academic help programs and various other community projects, including; YMCA, AME, Sickle Cell, UNCF, YWCA, United Way, Shorter College, Philander Smith College, etc., and is active in various trade associations, including; BBSI, AHBAI, NACDS and several other business organizations.
